Welcome to Anti-theocracy

(written Jan 6, 2022, modified, Apr 13, 2022)

I’ve been working slowly on putting together all my information on theocracy and the religious right in America (mostly, not exclusively), as well as my academic pieces on the history and doctrine of Christianity. What you see before you is a site that will serve as a repository of that info, and hopefully, as a resource for those wanting to halt the trend of theocratic developments in the US.

On this anniversary of the insurrection at the US capitol, and thinking about the crosses that appeared there, I decided it was time to make this (sort of) public. It’s very much a work in progress, and I’m not really going to promote it until there’s more to it, but if you have landed here, please have a look around, kick the tires, and drop me a line if you find any problems or there is something you’d like me to include.

My hope is that this website can become a place for discussion, awareness-raising, information-sharing, and support for all who are opposed to the deeply theocratic agenda of the Christian religious right. I’m still getting the site set up, but I’ll post some information pieces soon, and try to find some avenues where we can let people know we’re here.

Some places to begin:

Religious Right 101 will be permanent articles on various groups, trends, and ideas.

History of Christianity will be a series of essays on just that; the development of Christianity and its doctrines, how they affected and were influenced by time, place, and contemporaneous events.

Recent News will be essays and updates on current events (in as much as I can keep up with it!) If you want to contribute, please sign up and read the posting guidelines (on our About page here), before posting.

Thanks,
